The Altura City Council has opened the participatory budgeting process for 2026, with a fund of 100,000 euros, for citizens to decide on the allocation of a portion of municipal public resources.

This direct participation mechanism allows the residents of Altura to propose, debate, and vote on projects they consider priorities for the town. Beyond deciding on spending, the process serves as a tool for collective dialogue to identify needs and share proposals.
The Altura City Council is promoting this initiative within the framework of Law 7/1985, of April 2nd, on the Regulation of Local Government Bases, which obliges local entities to facilitate citizen participation in local life, and Law 4/2023, of April 13th, on Citizen Participation and Promotion of Associativism of the Valencian Community.
The bases regulate the participatory budgets for 2026, and the selected proposal will be executed using funds from the 2027 municipal budget.
