The head of the Local Police, Daniel Muñoz, and Ramón Tarazona, representing the council, received the distinctions during a ceremony honoring municipalities and officers from across Spain who collaborated during the emergency.
Muñoz, along with agent Francisco Rueda, was involved in traffic control, security, and the distribution of food and essential supplies in the days after the flood. He also coordinated the arrival of an aid caravan from Montanejos. Consequently, the Catarroja City Council presented him with an individual award, as well as a token of appreciation for the council.
The mayor of Montanejos, Miguel Sandalinas, expressed gratitude for the recognition, highlighting the community's solidarity: “Montanejos proved it is a proud town. We were there when we needed to be there.”
