With this modification, municipalities such as Tírig, Catí, Albocàsser, Culla, La Salzadella, Segorbe, and Gátova will be eligible for aid, joining those already included from the Serra d’Espadà. This aid was initially adopted on July 31st for La Vall d’Uixó and now extends to municipalities affected by fires declared in Tírig and Segorbe in August.
The increase of 1,176,700 euros will cover damages caused by the fire declared on August 7th in Tírig, which spread to Catí, Albocàsser, Culla, and La Salzadella, requiring extraordinary civil protection measures, including the confinement of Serra d’En Garceran.
Furthermore, the fire declared on August 20th in Segorbe also affected Gátova, necessitating measures such as the evacuation of the latter town. These fires have caused significant damage to homes, belongings, vehicles, economic activities, agricultural and livestock operations, as well as municipal infrastructure and services.
The Consell deems it appropriate to facilitate the recovery of affected individuals, activities, and assets. To this end, urgent aid decrees have been modified to include these municipalities, adjust subsidized periods, establish new application deadlines, and adapt maximum amounts and budgetary distribution.
The extraordinary measures package is structured around four pillars: direct aid to affected individuals and sectors (increasing from 11,767,010 to 12,943,710 euros), an extraordinary support line for municipalities with five million euros, enhanced forest prevention and surveillance, and a recovery and reforestation plan.
