The Councilor for Tourism and Cultural Heritage, Lorena Zamorano, along with designer Gloria Segura, has presented the illustration exhibition 'Alcoi Vintage'. The exhibition will open to the public on Saturday, September 26th at 1:30 PM at the Buykafé establishment. This activity is part of the Modernist Fair and aims to integrate culture and tourism through a synergy between gastronomic offerings and local artistic talent.
Gloria Segura, born in Alcoi in 1979, presents a collection of posters and postcards that move away from modernist clichés to embrace an aesthetic reminiscent of the 1930s. As the author explained, the intention is to "create a kind of exhibition referencing the vintage era, the beginning of tourism," seeking to reinvent modernism and enjoy the well-established Modernist Fair.
The artworks depict well-known locations in Alcoi from a perspective designed to attract tourist interest. Visitors will have the opportunity to purchase the eight available prints and postcards. Segura detailed that they are "posters that I invented myself, vintage, using a bit of fantasy".
Councilor Lorena Zamorano highlighted the benefits of this collaboration for the city's citizens and economy, emphasizing the importance of civil society joining the Modernist Fair project by utilizing unconventional spaces to promote the city's history and identity.
