The Universitat Politècnica de València, through its Rectoral Emergency Office (GER), has made a series of preventive decisions for Monday, October 19th, based on updated meteorological forecasts, AEMET warnings, and communications from the Generalitat's Emergency Coordination Center. At the Alcoi Campus, the meteorological risk situation is expected to be less severe than at other campuses, although travel difficulties from areas affected by the storm may persist.
At the Alcoi Campus, teaching and work activities will continue as usual during their normal hours. However, in-person evaluation tests scheduled for Monday have been postponed and will need to be rescheduled. Travel impossibility will be justified for individuals residing in or needing to cross areas affected by the storm who cannot travel safely.
Students must communicate and justify this circumstance to the corresponding professor. Staff must report it to their unit manager, and if their duties allow, remote work (teleworking) may be exceptionally authorized. These situations will be handled with flexibility, always prioritizing safety.
As general recommendations for all three UPV campuses, caution is urged for travel, unnecessary trips should be avoided, and the status of roads, access, and public transport should be checked beforehand. It is reminded that flooded areas, ravines, or affected streams must not be crossed, and traffic closures and instructions from competent authorities must be respected at all times.
The GER will continue to monitor the meteorological, hydrological, and mobility situation, and any modification of these measures will be communicated through institutional channels.
