The Alcoy City Council has put out to tender the comprehensive renewal of the artificial turf at football field number 1 Aurelio Colomina, located in Campos del Serpis, with a base budget of 309,012.40 euros.

The project will improve the facility's conditions, which show significant wear after years of intensive use, and provide a more suitable surface for playing football. The contract includes the lease with an option to purchase the new turf, the necessary works to repair the base, and maintenance for five years.
The Aurelio Colomina field is the oldest in Campos del Serpis and experiences high usage intensity. Progressive deterioration of the turf necessitates its replacement to ensure adequate playing conditions, improving ball bounce and movement, and enhancing stud grip to reduce risks.
The project also includes marking for transversal football 7 fields and the preventive maintenance tasks required to keep the surface in optimal condition during the established period.
“

"The Campos del Serpis have very intense sporting activity throughout the season, and it is essential that those who train and compete have a surface in good condition. The renovation of the Aurelio Colomina field will improve the quality of play, promote better grip, and offer greater safety to footballers. It is a necessary action in one of the most used facilities in the city."
