The City Council has organized a comprehensive operation with extraordinary services, including innovations in cleaning and security. A campaign to raise awareness about waste cleaning and recycling has been launched, additional surveillance resources have been implemented, a special traffic plan is in place, and bus transport routes have been established.
The Local Police will deploy a special operation featuring a drone to expand the observation perimeter and improve control in high-traffic areas. The primary objective is to prevent public drinking (botellones) both within the festival grounds and in nearby vacant lots and parking areas.
Furthermore, officers will set up alcohol breathalyzer checkpoints and monitor access points to the venue to prohibit the entry of alcoholic beverages by individuals not participating in the festivities, aiming to prevent incidents and ensure the safety of attendees.
The Department of Social Rights will establish a 'punto violet' (safe space) on Friday and Saturday nights. This area will serve as a secure zone against potential sexual assaults and as an information point. Festival-goers can also collect cup lids to prevent the consumption of adulterated drinks.
The Urban Services department has initiated a new cleaning and waste collection awareness campaign for Saturday morning at the Solar de la Festa. An environmental educator will visit the site, and 1,000 reusable cups will be distributed to reduce the use of single-use plastic containers. A photocall area with festival-related elements and recycling messages has also been set up.
The Department of Transport has provided a shuttle bus service to the festival grounds. The route will cover several stops within the municipality's urban center, with a frequency of 35 minutes between 9:00 PM and 4:30 AM on Friday, and between 9:00 PM and 5:30 AM on Saturday.
Bus stops include the Solar de la Festa, Agost road-Pérez Galdós street, Pintor Sorolla-Manuel de Falla street, Ancha de Castelar avenue-Libertad, Alicante-Méndez Núñez, Vicente Savall-Doctor Marañón, Ciudad Jardín-Alicante, Dona Lluna roundabout, La Huerta-Libertad, Dénia nº2, and Jávea street-Marialice lot. Vehicle access to the venue will be restricted, allowing entry only to the designated parking area, which includes reserved spaces for people with reduced mobility.
The festival program, organized by the Department of Festivities and the Federation Unión de Comparsas de Moros y Cristianos Ber-Largas, will commence on Friday, September 25th, with a communal dinner and nighttime celebration featuring a performance by the band Stolen. On Saturday, September 26th, the Entrada de Mig Any (parade) will take place at 6:00 PM, with the participation of 20 'comparsas' (groups). Following the parade, another communal dinner and celebration will be held. Sunday, September 27th, will conclude the weekend with the traditional paella contest, a communal meal, and a snack for children.
