The Xàtiva August Fair reaches its end this Monday, August 17th, with a day marking the definitive farewell to the livestock area, which will close its doors at three in the afternoon. The day's program combines the classic Cycling Trophy, the traditional seniors' dinner at La Murta, and an intense evening offering with theater and live music for all ages.
From nine in the morning, the Municipal Volleyball Pavilion area hosts the last day of the Livestock Fair, where visitors can see horse, donkey, and mule specimens, as well as Purebred Spanish horses until the official closing at three in the afternoon. In parallel, the XLIX Pulling and Dragging Competition holds its final qualifying rounds for the regional league.
The Mancomunidad de Municipios de La Costera-Canal offers tourist information at Alameda Jaime I, which also hosts Suply Vintage, a new clothing brand, and the Association of Companies and Entrepreneurs of Xàtiva and La Costera (ADEXA) to advise on economic activity.
The sporting day includes the XXXVII August Fair Cycling Trophy, organized by the Bicicletas Sanchis Cycling Club, starting and finishing at Bajada de la Estación. Afterwards, an equestrian parade will take place to the Real de la Feria, where the La Font del Saladrar Equestrian Center will offer a show.
Culture also has its space with the award ceremony for the open-air drawing and painting contest at the Casa de Cultura, the animation by the Rytmus batucada group at the Real de la Feria, and the mascletà by Pirotecnia Valenciana at the Jardín de la Paz.
The afternoon and evening program includes the inclusive circus and clown show «Duo de Dos» at the Martínez Bellver school. Additionally, the La Murta Football Field will host the traditional seniors' dinner, followed by the Alrio Show.
The night will also feature Alexia TheNight's show at Gastro Rod-Arte to celebrate Diversity Day, the satirical comedy «La Corporació» by CRIT Companyia de Teatre in Plaça de la Seu, and rock concerts with Los Bonitos Redford at Jardí del Palasiet.
The festivities will extend into the early morning at the Jardí de la Pau Auditorium with the free-access session of the Al Ras Festival, featuring DJs Tomasoni, Pablo Grimaltos, and Fran Cabrerizo.
With this day, Xàtiva concludes a Fair marked by diversity, tradition, and local culture, balancing the historic livestock closing with sports, festive, and reunion events for the citizens.
