Fatal hit-and-run on the A-70 in Alicante causes traffic delays during holiday getaway

A person died this Friday on the A-70, near Alicante, after being struck by a driver who tested positive in alcohol and drug screenings.

The incident occurred around 18:25 at kilometer 13 of the road. According to initial reports, the victim exited their vehicle following a previous collision, at which point they were struck by the second driver, resulting in immediate death.
The accident caused nearly four kilometers of traffic congestion during the holiday getaway. The Alicante Accident Investigation Team is handling the case, which is being investigated as potential crimes of reckless homicide and traffic safety violations.
