In the first four weeks of coordinated work between the Local Police and Urban Services personnel, four infractions were recorded for abandoning furniture and belongings on public roads without requesting the collection service, one for not depositing solid waste in specific containers, and another for dumping debris on public land. The fines amount to nearly 4,000 euros, with penalties ranging from 800 euros down to 200 euros.
The Councilor for Security, Adrián García, highlighted that at least two weekly checks will be maintained to prevent the proliferation of these dirt hotspots, which pose a fire risk and harm public health and the environment. Since August 24th, 53 specific surveillance services have been carried out with the support of the drone from the Local Police Air Unit.
Officers have also conducted informational tasks to raise awareness among residents about the correct procedure for depositing belongings on public roads and the communication channels for the waste collection service.
The Councilor for Urban Services, Antonio Díaz, confirmed that the collaboration between the Local Police and the cleaning and waste department aims to optimize the location and elimination of black spots. Furthermore, it is expected that the operation will have a deterrent and public awareness effect.
