Three companies, Mistral 3000, Promed Consulting, and Llop Proyectos Integrales, have submitted their bids to carry out the elevator installation works at the Mutxamel municipal building. The Contracting Board has accepted all three proposals, deeming them compliant with the required specifications.
According to the tender documents, the elevator will be installed on the rear facade of the building, occupying the current cleaning room, which will be demolished beforehand. The structure will be panoramic with two glazed sides to minimize impact on the existing building.
To connect the new elevator with the rest of the building, some areas will be reconfigured. On the ground floor, a corridor will be created between the main staircase hall and the elevator, slightly affecting the switchboard and the restroom. On the first floor, the southern offices will be rearranged to create a passage to the elevator, and a new accessible restroom will be added.
Additionally, the current lateral access ramp will be adapted to become a central and wider one, eliminating two isolated steps. The building, located on Avenida Carlos Soler and dating back to 1970, has a built area of 596 square meters and two floors. Currently, access to the first floor is provisionally resolved with a stairlift.
