The concession, granting the right to occupy this strategic point between the Paseo de El Postiguet and the Paseo del Puerto, will last for three years, covering the current summer season and the years 2027 and 2028. Abia & Allepuz's proposal prevailed over those submitted by Madeira Arquitectura y Diseño and Gesfer Eventos.
The Port's contracting committee considered that Abia & Allepuz's alternative offered an "adequate balance between economic exploitation, operational organization, and implementation capacity," proving to be the most advantageous overall compared to the project by Madeira Arquitectura, which ranked second.
The estimated business volume for Abia & Allepuz amounts to 2,448,180 euros, a figure that surpasses the 1,088,100 euros calculated by Madeira and the 1,200,000 projected by Gesfer. With this award, the Port of Alicante expects to receive revenues of 195,854.40 euros in annual fees.
The resolution approved on June 9 gave the concessionaire until June 28 to set up the market, which will be open to the public until September 28. Installation work for the planned 84 stalls has already begun, with completion expected early next week.
The market will be operational from Sunday to Thursday between 10:00 AM and 1:00 AM, and on Fridays and Saturdays, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 AM.
