The council has approved an addendum to the agreement with the Red Cross to manage this initiative, which has a budget of over 140,000 euros. The goal is to guarantee immediate access to basic necessities for Alicante residents and families while other municipal or administrative aid is being processed.
The aid amount ranges from 100 to 220 euros per month, depending on the size of the family unit. A single person will receive 100 euros, while families of five or more members can access 220 euros. The vouchers will be granted for periods of one to three months, following an assessment by municipal social services.
To access this service, individuals must prove their effective residence in the city and demonstrate an immediate situation of need. The delivery of the vouchers will be managed by the Red Cross, ensuring that the support is used exclusively for the intended purposes when no other resources are available.
