The University of Alicante is hosting the EURES Spain 2026 national meeting from October 28th to 30th, an event that will bring together approximately one hundred professionals from the European employment network to address labor market challenges.

The Secretary General of the University of Alicante, Josep Ochoa Monzó, will inaugurate the event, themed "From Guarantee to Impact: EURES as a Strategic Partner of the European Labor Market". The conference will analyze the evolution of the European labor market, the challenges of labor mobility, and the role of the EURES network in implementing active employment policies.
EURES facilitates labor mobility in Europe by managing job offers for Spanish citizens abroad and organizing selection processes in Spain for companies from other member states. The meeting will gather around a hundred professionals linked to this network.
The program will begin on Wednesday, October 28th, with the institutional opening ceremony, featuring Antonio Galvañ Díez, Regional Secretary of Employment, and Belén Rebollo Moral, Deputy Director General of Active Employment Policies of the State Public Employment Service (SEPE). Representatives from the European Commission will present updates on European policies and talent attraction initiatives, including the EU Talent Pool. The European Labour Authority will also participate with a session on the EURES 2030 Strategy.
The day will continue with a session on innovation and the impact of the Network of Guidance, Entrepreneurship, Support, and Innovation Centers for Employment (COE) and EURES. The afternoon will include a welcome for new network members, a group photo, and an institutional dinner.
On Thursday, October 29th, the focus will be on EURES as a strategic partner for active employment policies, addressing the EURES 2030 Strategy and its alignment with the Spanish Active Employment Support Strategy 2025-2028, as well as the role of labor departments in labor mobility.
The final day, Friday, October 30th, will be dedicated to evaluating the impact and future of the EURES network, with presentations of impact indicators, a round table on the right to mobility and its repercussions on employment from the perspective of public employment services, and a participatory session on EURES as an agent of territorial transformation.
The meeting will conclude with conclusions, future proposals, and an institutional closing ceremony with Andrea Recuenco Soto, provincial director of SEPE in Alicante, and Marisa Mezquita Juan, Director General of Planning and Services of Labora.
A few days prior, the Vice-Rector for Students and Employment of the University of Alicante, Raúl Ruiz Callado, met with the national coordinator of EURES Spain, Elena Fernández, to tour the campus facilities for the event.
