The University of Alicante has welcomed 18 students with intellectual, developmental, or ASD disabilities in a new edition of the Unidiversidad program, aiming to improve their socio-laboral inclusion and personal autonomy.

The welcome event, held today in Alicante, was attended by representatives from the university and Fundación ONCE. The initiative, part of the University of Alicante's commitment to inclusion, provides practical and adapted university training.
The Unidiversidad program is structured over two academic years (2026/2027 and 2027/2028) and aims to equip students with personal, social, and labor skills to enter the job market, particularly in supported employment roles.
The training covers topics such as everyday economics, digital skills, communication, employment, healthy living, sports, and personal autonomy. It also includes internships in companies and institutions with necessary support.
The methodology will be active, practical, and inclusive, combining participatory activities, cooperative learning, and simulations, utilizing visual aids and easy-read materials to ensure accessibility for all students.
Experiential learning will be enhanced through practical workshops, cultural and sports activities, and inclusive initiatives on and off campus, such as shared classes with undergraduate students and international exchanges, all designed to foster communication, teamwork, and a sense of belonging to the university community.
