The agreement reaffirms Fira Alacant's commitment to the components sector and AEC's dedication to continuing to host FUTURMODA at the Alicante Ferial Institution. The next edition will take place on October 14 and 15, continuing a fair that in its last edition gathered over 4,100 professional visitors and 236 participating companies.
This collaboration underscores a shared commitment to the industrial future of the province of Alicante. On one hand, it highlights the Ferial Institution's support for the components sector and the companies in its value chain. On the other, it reaffirms AEC's intention to continue holding FUTURMODA at Fira Alacant, maintaining the link between the event and the territory where a fundamental part of this industry operates.
FUTURMODA holds two annual editions and presents a specialized offering of components, leathers, textiles, chemical products, accessories, machinery, and solutions for the manufacturing of footwear and leather goods. Its value lies in connecting suppliers with manufacturers, brands, and designers at the key moment of defining materials, processes, and collections.
Its 55th edition, held in March 2026, attracted over 4,100 professional visitors and 236 companies, with significant representation from Spain, Italy, Portugal, Turkey, China, and France, demonstrating its ability to draw attendees beyond the national market.
The continuity of FUTURMODA at Fira Alacant is particularly relevant for the business fabric of Elche, Elda, Petrer, Villena, and the regions linked to footwear. Bringing international buyers and suppliers closer facilitates local companies in showcasing their capabilities and expanding commercial opportunities.
As a reference for the sector's economic dimension, provincial footwear exports in 2023 reached 1,203.4 million euros, accounting for 17.2% of Alicante's total exports. The fair contributes to the region's economic activity through demand for accommodation, catering, transport, and professional services, in addition to facilitating business contacts and improving the sector's competitiveness.
