The Provincial Council of Valencia, through its public company Egevasa, has commenced work for the comprehensive repair of water infrastructure in Pedralba that was affected by the DANA last October. The vice-president and president of the Egevasa Board, Natàlia Enguix, highlighted the effectiveness of public service management.
The interventions are primarily focused on the Pozo Serratilla area and the network supplying the municipality's scattered residential zones. The river floods caused significant damage, destroying pipeline sections that were temporarily replaced to ensure supply. Now, these pipelines will be replaced with a new installation, including the renewal of valves and associated elements, as well as a new crossing over the Turia River.
Additionally, the provisional network supplying scattered homes south of the urban center will be renovated, installing a new underground network connected to the municipal infrastructure. In the sanitation sector, affected collectors, as well as wells, sumps, and sewers, will be renewed.
The treatment and pumping stations, which suffered severe damage, have also received repairs to their equipment and access roads. The total investment for supply and sanitation works amounts to 1.6 million euros, to which 870,157 euros are added for the rehabilitation of wastewater treatment. These projects will replace the temporary solutions implemented after the DANA with permanent and more robust infrastructure.
