The Department of Public Road Maintenance of the Cheste City Council has initiated a campaign to repaint horizontal signage in different areas of the municipality. These tasks are performed periodically to ensure that elements such as pedestrian crossings and stop lines are in optimal condition.
As explained by David Pujals, councilor for Public Road Maintenance, constant upkeep of signage is crucial for the safety of pedestrians. Adequate visibility of these elements contributes to better circulation and accident prevention.
The work includes repainting pedestrian crossings, stop lines, road markings, and other signs aimed at improving safety and traffic flow for both vehicles and pedestrians. These efforts are part of the municipal road network conservation plan.
Pujals emphasized that clear and well-maintained signage promotes road safety, especially in areas with high pedestrian concentration, near schools, and at busy intersections.
The City Council plans to continue these maintenance tasks in various neighborhoods and streets, responding to needs identified by technical services and reaffirming its commitment to improving road safety and the quality of public spaces.
