The Consell's decision to allocate over €550,000 for the construction of a water reservoir in Morella has been met with satisfaction by the local Popular Party. According to Jesús Ortí, the party's spokesperson in the town, this hydraulic infrastructure is "key" to "reinforcing the activity of a strategic sector that generates employment and wealth in the interior regions."
Ortí highlighted that the new reservoir will provide "greater security and peace of mind to our livestock farmers, especially during times of drought," eliminating the need to transport water via tanker trucks. This project, the spokesperson stated, demonstrates "the absolute commitment of the Consell" and the dedication of the Ministry of Agriculture, Water, Livestock, and Fisheries to the primary sector of the Els Ports region.
The PP representative emphasized the importance of livestock farming for Morella and its region, not only for its economic impact and job creation but also for its contribution to population retention in the area. Therefore, he advocated for continued support for sector professionals.
The project, which has already commenced with land preparation, represents significant support for local farmers who require resources to efficiently carry out their activities.
