The 1st Amateur Theatre Showcase in La Romana, promoted by the Culture Department of the La Romana City Council in collaboration with the Federation of Amateur Theatre of the Valencian Community, has generated significant interest. 82 plays were submitted by amateur groups from across the country for pre-selection, making the choice of the 3 participating plays challenging.
On Sunday, October 4th, the group “Aquí te pillo aquí teatro” from Petrer will perform the play “7 AÑOS” by José Cabeza, directed by Begoña Tenés Navarro.
On Sunday, October 11th, “Garum Teatre” from Xàbia will stage “L’ÚLTIMA DE TXÈKHOV” by Joan Lluís Moreno and Inma Sancho, directed by Inma Sancho.
Meanwhile, the group “Carabau Teatre” from Valencia will present “EXITUS” by Pako Merino and Diego Lorca on Sunday, October 18th, directed by Xema Palanca.
The showcase's closing event will be on Sunday, October 25th, with a non-competitive performance of the play “SENYALS DE FUM” by Marian Díaz, presented by the group “Yorick Teatre” from El Pinós and directed by Xavier Monzó.
Following the performance, awards will be presented for best production, best direction, best performance, best scenography, and a special audience award.
All performances will take place at the Casa de Cultura at 7:30 PM, with free admission.
