The Novelda City Council has opened bids from two companies for the construction of 132 new niches and 170 columbaria in the municipal cemetery, with a tender budget of 181,400 euros.

The Novelda City Council has opened bids from two companies, Omilia System and Aldaba Obras Reunidas, to carry out the expansion works at the municipal cemetery. The project, to be developed in Patio Nuevo III, plans for the creation of 132 new niches and 170 columbaria, totaling 302 new funerary units. The tender budget is around 181,400 euros, with an estimated execution period of three months.
The Contracting Board opened the proposals on August 20. Omilia System submitted the lowest economic offer at 162,000 euros (VAT included), while Aldaba Obras Reunidas proposes 174,190.04 euros. Both companies have proven experience in constructing prefabricated elements in cemeteries. The offer price will be a decisive factor in the award, accounting for up to 90 out of 100 possible points, with experience contributing the remaining ten.
The project addresses the municipal need to increase burial and urn deposit capacity. The new units will be built within the cemetery's current boundaries, focusing on Patio Nuevo III, an area already designated for future expansions. Prefabricated reinforced concrete elements will be used for their speed, durability, and low maintenance, maintaining the aesthetic uniformity of the site.
The work will include site preparation, foundations, installation of prefabricated modules, and finishing, as well as the setup of rainwater drainage systems. The material execution budget amounts to 125,974.91 euros, with 93,985.18 euros allocated to the new niche blocks and 27,046.67 euros to the columbaria. An average workforce of four operators is estimated.
