Registration for the Free After-School Activities opens on Friday, September 11th. For the second consecutive year, the program will benefit from a 16.2% budget increase. The Councilor for Education, María Gisbert, announced that registration will be available on the municipal website (www.elda.es) until September 23rd, with activities commencing on October 13th. Interested families can find more information via the Education Department's Telegram channel.
The councilor highlighted that these after-school activities already reach 85% of Infant and Primary students, with over 3,000 registrations in the last three academic years, totaling 3,708 students in 2024-2025. This municipal-funded program aims to enhance academic and artistic skills, foster holistic development, and support work-life balance for families.
The activities will take place from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM in Elda's participating educational centers. María Gisbert emphasized that the program, launched by Elda's socialist government in 2021, is projected to exceed 20,000 places by the end of this academic year, maintaining a diverse offering that includes academic support, artistic, and motor skill activities.
The planned activities include: English (a playful and active space), School Support (educational guidance), Theater (developing expressive skills), Music and Dance (rhythm, expression, and coordination), and Plastic Arts (fostering creativity).
