The UNED campus in Elda has welcomed a new academic year with very positive figures, highlighting the strong reception of the new Psychology and Artificial Intelligence degrees.

The National Distance Education University (UNED) in Elda has launched the 2026-2027 academic year with enrollment numbers that surpass expectations, particularly in the newly implemented degree programs: Psychology and Artificial Intelligence. The Psychology degree already has 57 students, while the Artificial Intelligence degree starts with 41 students. The center's management anticipates these figures will increase significantly before the enrollment period closes, estimating between 60 and 80 students for Psychology and between 50 and 70 for Artificial Intelligence.
Furthermore, the University Access Course currently registers 19 students, with a projected final figure of 30 to 35 enrolled. The Open University program maintains its strength with 357 students, a solid number comparable to previous periods. These results reinforce UNED Elda's commitment to academic excellence and accessible higher education, adapting to the current and future training demands of the region.
The mayor of Elda, Rubén Alfaro, has emphasized the strategic importance of this educational offering for the city, noting that Elda is one of the five locations in the Valencian Community offering Artificial Intelligence studies. He also highlighted that the introduction of the Psychology Degree democratizes access to university education, preventing the need for students to travel and resulting in economic savings for families.
