The UNED in Elda has kicked off the 2026-2027 academic year with the traditional Opening Ceremony, held in the university's Auditorium, located within the Shoe Museum facilities. The event featured a performance by the UNED Chamber Choir and Orchestra and an Inaugural Lecture delivered by Borja Moreno, a renowned forensic doctor, university professor, and writer.
The start of the academic year has been marked by exceptional figures, with a significant increase in enrollments in recent weeks. The two newly introduced degrees, Psychology and Artificial Intelligence, have seen high demand, as announced months ago.
Specifically, the Psychology degree already has 82 enrolled students, while the Artificial Intelligence degree begins with 60 students, far exceeding initial projections.
Furthermore, the Access Course currently has 32 students, and the Open University program maintains strong loyalty, with 367 registered students. In total, the student body at the Elda campus of UNED will exceed 500 individuals.
With these figures, UNED Elda reaffirms its commitment to academic excellence and accessible higher education, adapting to the current and future educational needs of the region, as highlighted during the official presentation of the new degrees.
It is worth remembering that UNED was established in Elda in 1982 and will celebrate its 45th anniversary next year. Throughout this period, thousands of students have fulfilled their dream of expanding their education or completing a university degree.
