The Elda City Council has formalized its incorporation into the Network of Cities, an initiative by LALIGA and FEMP that uses sport to foster coexistence and combat intolerance.

The Elda City Council has ratified its adhesion to the Network of Cities, an initiative jointly promoted by LALIGA and the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP). This framework for voluntary institutional collaboration aims to establish a link between city councils, FEMP, and the professional football ecosystem.
The Councilor for Sports, Enrique Quílez, highlighted that the primary objective of this adhesion is to reinforce citizen coexistence, foster mutual respect, and utilize sport as a key tool for social transformation.
Furthermore, Quílez stated that the network intends to actively contribute to the prevention and fight against various forms of hate, violence, racism, xenophobia, bullying, and intolerance in sports, through training, awareness-raising actions, and workshops.
To achieve these goals, the Elda City Council has committed to following the general principles of the Network's protocol, which include promoting local awareness measures, fostering educational and community activities, and collaborating on prevention campaigns.
Additionally, internal municipal protocols will be promoted for the detection and response to hate incidents, and participation in training and best practice exchange activities will be voluntary.
Elda's participation falls within its local competencies regarding sports promotion, leisure time occupation, and the transmission of civic values. The resolution formalizes the communication of the agreement and the Declaration of Adhesion to LALIGA and FEMP.
