The Councilor for Youth, Anabel García, accompanied by psychologists Isabel Sanz and Sara Ochoa, has confirmed the renewal of the project, which assisted over sixty young people in its first edition. The program, part of the Elda Youth Plan, seeks to address the mental health needs expressed by the youth themselves.
In the first edition, the most frequent consultations were for anxiety (29.2%), social relationship problems (25%), and depression (16.7%), accounting for over two-thirds of all requests. Although the service is open to individuals up to 30 years old, the majority of participants were between 12 and 14 years old, highlighting the significant work done by the guidance departments in educational centers.
Isabel Sanz emphasized the need to continue the program, and Sara Ochoa noted the highly positive evaluation of the first edition. The program is structured around four main pillars: participatory diagnosis, educational and preventive intervention, individualized psychological support, and awareness campaigns.
The project, which has already commenced its second edition and will run until December, requires only being registered in Elda and being between 12 and 30 years old. Interested individuals can contact the Youth Department or educational centers.
