The Elda City Council will complete the works for the new Castle of Elda Visitor Reception Centre in January, a strategic project to revalue and make the city's most emblematic monument accessible.

The new facilities, which will include a multipurpose room for exhibitions and screenings, basic services, and a visitor support area, are being financed with European 'Next Generation' funds. The project also involves accessibility improvements, perimeter fencing renewal, and landscaping work in the surroundings of the Palacio Condal.
The mayor of Elda, Rubén Alfaro, accompanied by the councillors for Urban Planning, Jesús Sellés, and Historical Heritage, Iñaki Pérez, visited the construction sites. The project has a total investment of 240,986 euros. The council aims with this intervention to provide the city with top-tier tourist infrastructure and achieve a 'definitive qualitative leap' in the recovery of historical heritage.
The new centre will become a modern space for welcome and historical and cultural interpretation of the monument. The building will have a main entrance on Virtudes street and a secondary one on Castillo street. The mayor emphasized that 'providing Elda Castle with an interpretation space was a historical necessity to highlight our legacy'.
The intervention also includes the conditioning of access routes, the replacement of the main entrance gate, the renewal of the perimeter fencing, and the paving of the entrance esplanade. Furthermore, landscaping and aesthetic finishing touches are planned to harmonize the monumental surroundings, connecting with other revitalization projects in the city centre.
