The initiative, which began on October 2nd at the Caliu Social Center, will run until December 2026. Activities take place on Fridays and Saturdays, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, under the slogan ‘You propose. You decide’, promoting a participatory leisure model where minors choose the activities.
The Councilor for Social Welfare, David Guardiola, highlighted the project's educational and social dimension, working on values such as respect, cooperation, and conflict resolution, as well as fostering social skills and healthy habits. The Miniclub aims to be an open and welcoming space for all minors, regardless of their circumstances.
The program combines physical, recreational, creative, and musical activities, adapted to the participants' ages, including calisthenics, sports games, manual workshops, music, and dance. Thematic activities are also organized for special dates like Halloween or Christmas.
Since its launch, the Miniclub has registered an average of 14 participants per session, aged between 4 and 12 years old. Early sessions have utilized the outdoor space for games and outdoor dynamics, while indoor activities include creative pursuits. For Halloween, a face-painting activity is planned.
The project also seeks to promote a balanced use of free time, reducing screen dependency and reviving the value of shared play and personal relationships. The service has a maximum capacity of 25 participants per day, admitted on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Elda City Council thus reinforces its commitment to educational leisure as a tool for the integral development of childhood, the prevention of exclusion, and the strengthening of community cohesion in neighborhoods.
