The city of Elda will celebrate Senior Month during October with an extensive program of free and participatory activities, organized by the City Council. The Councilor for Senior Citizens and Social Welfare, David Guardiola, highlighted that numerous activities, conferences, workshops, and performances have been prepared, reaffirming the government's commitment to caring for the elderly.
The program will begin tomorrow, October 6, at 12:00 PM, with the reading of the manifesto for the International Day of Older Persons in front of the APANAH headquarters. Additionally, Documóvil will be presented, an intergenerational initiative that has enabled the creation of several short films with the IMSSE Equality Unit.
Regarding workshops, sessions include pottery (October 6), healthy and conscious eating (October 7 and 8), and an introduction to chess (October 20). There will also be talks and conferences on the use of Alexa (October 27), ageism and discrimination (October 14), Zero Tolerance at any age (October 19), and the 'Get closer to technology, get closer to your loved ones' meeting network (October 16).
The program also includes musical performances, such as the Coral Elda Canta (October 21, at ADOC), and theatrical productions like the play ‘Mi taxi’ (October 17, at ADOC). Furthermore, a poetry recital from the International Poetry Contest for Seniors will be held. On October 21 and 22, the intergenerational activity ‘Generations between the stoves’ will take place at the Amas de Casa headquarters, and on October 29, the awards for the III Intergenerational Illustrated Narrative Contest ‘Enriching Bonds’ will be presented.
The highlight of this celebration will be the Golden Wedding Gala, which will take place on Friday, October 23, at 7:00 PM at the Teatro Castelar.
