In the sports sector, aid managed by the Department of Sports for the AMPAS of local educational centers has been approved, with a global amount of 45,000 euros and a maximum of 6,000 euros per entity. As a novelty, the required annexes have been reduced to streamline the justification process.
The Councilor for Sports, Enrique Quílez, explained that the distribution of aid is based on a scoring system considering participation in the Sports Games, the number of athletes and modalities, and the promotion of women's sports and sports for individuals with functional diversity.
The beneficiary entities and the granted amounts are: AMPA IES LA TORRETA (€2,242.20), AMPA PINTOR SOROLLA (€5,137.15), APA COLEGIO SANTA MARÍA DEL CARMEN (€3,022.65), AMPA CEIP JUAN RICO Y AMAT (€4,669.32), AMPA IES MONASTIL (€3,711.49), APA COLEGIO PADRE MANJÓN DE ELDA (€5,677.65), AMPA IES LA MELVA (€3,827.33), AMPA COLEGIO SAGRADA FAMILIA (€3,055.68), AMPA CEIP POETA MIGUEL HERNÁNDEZ (€4,667.75), AMPA CEIP ANTONIO MACHADO (€4,371.33), and AMPA CEIP SANTO NEGRO (€4,617.45).
Furthermore, scholarships for university and vocational training transport for the 2025-26 academic year have been approved, benefiting around a hundred Elda students. The Councilor for Mobility, Silvia Ibáñez, highlighted the increase in the budget to 80,000 euros (a 300% rise), and the increase in the maximum amount per beneficiary from 200 to 400 euros.
These grants co-finance regular public transport travel to public universities and vocational training centers for degrees not offered in Elda. The commission considered socio-family factors such as belonging to a large family, having siblings pursuing higher education, a disability degree over 33%, or parents being unemployed or invalidity pensioners. To justify expenses, invoices from the transport company and purchased tickets must be submitted.
