The employment committee of the Aspe City Council convened for a new session to analyze and enhance labor insertion policies within the municipality. Representatives from the Consistory itself, the Social Inclusion Itinerary Implementation Program (VIAS INTEGRACIÓN ASPE), the SASEM service, the Association for People with Disabilities of Aspe (APDA) through its Employment Launchpad, and the Local Development Agency (ADL) participated in the meeting.
The effectiveness of the municipal employment WhatsApp channel was highlighted, boasting nearly 3,000 subscribers. Looking ahead to the coming months, coinciding with the start of the Christmas campaign, a decision was made to conduct direct prospecting of local companies, factories, and warehouses to identify their real hiring needs. Currently, the most in-demand professional profiles include truck drivers, forklift operators, laborers, and warehouse workers. This prospecting and coordination effort will be jointly undertaken by the VIAS program of Social Services and the Employment Launchpad.
During the meeting, information was also provided on the ongoing and planned training offerings for the municipality. Key initiatives include 'Auxiliary Commerce and Warehouse Operations', organized by the ADL as part of the Talento +45 program (aimed at individuals over 45 years old), spanning 90 hours and running from September 22nd to October 19th. Additionally, training in 'Basic Electricity' was announced, promoted by the VIAS program in collaboration with the Business Federation of Metalworkers of the Province of Alicante (FEMPA). The possibility of offering a specialized course in phytosanitary products to meet sector demand was also evaluated.
For its part, the SASEM service emphasized the importance of promoting protected and adapted employment opportunities for the service's users. The goal is to ensure access to suitable job positions with the continuous support of APDA's Employment Launchpad and the ADL.
Through these initiatives, the Aspe City Council and participating entities reaffirm their commitment to coordinating public resources and insertion pathways to foster employment, address the needs of the local business community, and enhance citizen qualifications.
