Accompanied by the mayor, Pau Pinar, Pérez toured the traditional market, now in its seventh edition, which features local, organic, and artisanal products. The event also included the presence of the first vice-president, Ana Serna, and the deputy for Economic Development, Carlos Pastor.
The Mercat de Canèssia combines commerce with an extensive cultural and leisure program, including parades, workshops, exhibitions, Moors and Christians parades, and music and dance performances. The opening day began with the parade of “Cabuts Concepció i Batiste,” followed by Toni Pérez's participation in the inauguration of the exhibition by the Centre d’Estudis Contestans and a poetry recital.

The president of the Provincial Council highlighted the market's importance for the area's tourism and economic development, recalling the historical role of the Muslim population in the province's growth. The Mercat de Canèssia attracts thousands of visitors to L’Orxa, a town with just under 600 inhabitants.
As a final act of the inauguration, Toni Pérez also opened the ceramic mural dedicated to Al-Azraq and Jaume I.
