The Alicante Provincial Council has announced an investment of 1.2 million euros for Alcoy, distributed between consumption vouchers and the + Cerca Plan for the current year.

Of this total amount, 742,000 euros will be allocated to consumption vouchers, an initiative aimed at promoting activity in local commerce. The remaining 482,000 euros are part of the + Cerca Plan, a funding line designed to cover current expenses for the Alcoy City Council.
The municipal opposition has urged the local government to supplement these provincial contributions with its own resources to increase the impact of the aid. Additionally, greater transparency has been requested regarding the final destination of the funds released by the + Cerca Plan.
It has been suggested that the municipal resources made available through this injection could be applied to improvements in the maintenance of playgrounds, cleaning of ravines, pest control, and the renovation of urban furniture, among other city needs.
