The Ribactiva Empresas headquarters, located in the La Reva industrial estate, hosted an explanatory session organized by the CHJ, specifically targeting the business and social sectors of the municipalities affected by the DANA on October 29, 2024.
The organization has launched the public participation process for projects designed to enhance resilience in the Poyo, Magro, and Pozalet-Saleta basins. These drafting works, with a combined budget of nearly four million euros, will soon be published on the CHJ website, where citizens can submit suggestions and objections until December 15.
Ignacio Valero, head of area at the CHJ's Technical Directorate, detailed the project for the Pozalet-Saleta basin, which includes the creation of controlled water storage zones (ZACs) in the Poyo ravine, between Chiva and Cheste. The aim is to reduce water flow rates from the 450m³/s recorded on October 29, 2024, to 150m³/s, a quantity that Aldaia could manage with the new Turia riverbed.
The mayor of Riba-roja de Túria, Robert Raga, emphasized the importance of opening the Ronda del Puerto de Valencia (PLV) to ensure natural water flow and the restoration of the Pozalet Ravine, reassuring the business sector. He also mentioned the future Baló Bridge, which will be a resilient infrastructure and an alternative route to the A3.
The local council also plans to construct an embankment in sector 14 to increase the safety of businesses and residents in El Oliveral. The CHJ will publicly exhibit the projects by mid-November to improve them and adapt them to the specific needs of each area.
