The resolution, promoted by the Valencian Agency for Security and Emergency Response and the Regional Secretariat for Environment and Territory, responds to an extreme risk episode marked by high temperatures and the possibility of dry storms in the interior.
During this period, the transit of people on trails and cross-country in forest lands is prohibited. Likewise, works in the mountains are suspended, as well as the use of fire for recreational or festive purposes in a 500-meter strip around forest areas.
The restrictions especially affect natural parks, where circulation on tracks and paths is prohibited, whether on foot, by bicycle, or by vehicle. This measure applies to spaces such as Serra Calderona, Serra d'Irta, Penyagolosa, Desert de les Palmes, Tinença de Benifassà, Serra d'Espadà, Font Roja, Prat de Cabanes-Torreblanca, and Albufera.
The administration has clarified that these prohibitions do not affect surveillance, forest management, maintenance, or access to homes and agricultural holdings located in these areas. Finally, all sports events and recreational activities on forest land have been suspended, including those that already had prior authorization.
