The Generalitat Valenciana has established level 3 pre-emergency for forest fire risk throughout the autonomous territory due to the episode of extreme temperatures and dry storms expected until July 9.

The resolution, promoted by the Valencian Agency for Security and Emergency Response and the Regional Secretariat for Environment and Territory, prohibits lighting any type of fire in forest lands and their influence zone, which covers the surrounding 500 meters. This measure entails the suspension of all authorizations for recreational fire use and the halting of work in these areas.
Access to various protected spaces, including the Serra Calderona, is restricted. During these days, walking, cycling, or driving on forest tracks and paths in these natural parks is not permitted. The exception applies only to management, surveillance, access to homes, or agricultural holdings located within these areas.
Furthermore, all sports events taking place on forest land have been suspended. Recreational facilities and camps managed by the regional administration will not be able to organize sports or leisure activities outside their closed premises.
In the face of the heatwave, authorities recommend avoiding direct sun exposure between 12:00 and 16:00, keeping homes ventilated, and staying hydrated. They emphasize the importance of paying attention to vulnerable groups and never leaving people or animals inside parked vehicles.
