The goal is to modernize and standardize communication equipment, improving operational effectiveness in emergency situations. This initiative is part of the Bétera Local Police Modernization and Improvement Plan, aimed at professionalizing the service.
The new advanced technology equipment offers high-security encrypted communications (TEA2), real-time GPS geolocation, and compatibility with the COMDES Network, the official emergency response network of the Valencian Community. The investment also includes the necessary technical training for the personnel who will use these devices.
The mayor of Bétera, Elia Verdevío, highlighted the importance of this investment to guarantee the protection of residents and coordination with other bodies during large-scale events, such as the upcoming August Festivals.
The new radios, which meet the specifications of the Valencian Agency for Security and Emergency Response (AVSRE), integrate directly into the COMDES Network, ensuring coverage and interoperability between Civil Protection, Local Police, and other security forces during operations.
The terminals feature audio encryption, high-capacity batteries, dual desktop chargers, and IP54 certification against water and dust, ensuring their proper functioning in complex operational environments. The councilor for Police, Civil Protection, and Interior, Manuel Pérez, emphasized the municipal commitment to improving infrastructure and equipment for optimal response capacity.
The acquisition of the devices is designed to integrate correctly with the specialized audio material already used by the group, enabling an advanced communication system for a more agile and prepared service while optimizing municipal resources. The City Council thus reaffirms its commitment to prevention and effective service throughout the municipality.
