The Valencian Government's plan to boost public protected housing (VPP) construction in Sagunt is nearing its initial results. Following the municipal council's land transfer over a year ago, one project is in the final stages of administrative authorizations to commence construction.
This involves the construction of 71 homes on Carrer Pavía in Port de Sagunt. The strategy to advance the project was the sale of the land to the company Fomento Valenciano de la Vivienda, in exchange for the transfer of 11 VPP valued at approximately 150,000 euros each. These 11 homes, including garages and storage rooms, will have an average area of 53 square meters and will be designated by the Generalitat for affordable rent. The remaining apartments, spread across five floors plus an attic, are already on sale.
The agreement with the awarded company was formalized in mid-October last year. Currently, the process is stalled due to the lack of definitive VPP qualification and the municipal building permit. Once obtained, the 36-month period stipulated in the tender documents for the building's completion will begin.
Concurrently, the Valencian Housing and Land Entity (EVHA) has re-tendered a promotion of 145 VPP in the PAI Fusión, specifically on Carrer Barraquero. This project, with a land valuation exceeding 1.8 million euros, has been unsuccessfully tendered several times before. Interested companies have until mid-September to submit their offers.
According to EVHA data, the Plan Vive CV currently includes 212 completed homes, 1,436 under construction, 1,774 already awarded, and 1,268 in the tendering phase across the region.
