The Algímia d'Alfara City Council has successfully completed the development of the new Sustainability Plan for Schools (PSC) for the municipality's educational center. This initiative aims to transform the local school into a more sustainable, efficient space, fully adapted to the challenges of climate change, while simultaneously promoting the well-being of the entire population.
The plan has been structured around three fundamental areas of action: responsible water management, energy saving and efficiency, and progress towards a zero-waste policy.
One of the main pillars of this project has been its open and inclusive nature. The initiative has involved the entire educational community —students, teaching staff, center personnel, and families— as well as the residents of Algímia d'Alfara. Through public surveys and participatory workshops held at the school, citizens and educators have been able to contribute their ideas, ensuring that the final document addresses the real needs of the town.
This project is funded by the Generalitat Valenciana and the Provincial Council of Valencia.
Furthermore, the public consultation process for the rest of the municipality is now beginning to gather further contributions and suggestions. Anyone interested in participating can submit their comments via an online form.
