The Union of Festers of Camp d’Elx (UFECE) has initiated its participation in the August Festivals of Elche with a visit and flower offering to the Virgen de la Asunción, patron saint of Elche, at the basilica of Santa María.

The event, which took place this morning, was attended by the queens and ladies of the festival commissions associated with UFECE, as well as members of the entity led by its president, Andrés Coves. This visit is part of the activities organized by the Association of Friends of the Nit de l’Albà.
The president of UFECE, Andrés Coves, thanked them for the invitation and highlighted the importance of being able to place a flower in memory of the reign their representatives are experiencing. He noted that the entity's participation will include the festival's opening speech, a 'racó' (gathering spot), and some parades starting August 7th, although he wished for broader involvement.
Coves expressed UFECE's satisfaction at having a place within the Festes d'Elx and invited all the people of Elche and the surrounding area to participate in the events, visit their 'racó', and share the festive days.
UFECE's program includes participation in the festival's opening speech on Friday, August 7th, by Elche C.F. player Josan Ferrández. On August 11th, their gastronomic 'racó' will be inaugurated, located opposite the Tourist Office on Paseo de la Estación, open until the 15th, offering typical dishes with the collaboration of local restaurants and businesses.
As a new feature, on August 11th, a night 'mascletà' (fireworks display) organized by UFECE, by Pirotecnia Turis, will take place on Avenida Alcalde Vicente Quiles. The ignition will be carried out by Vicente Bordonado, a geographer and presenter of 'El Camp en Festes' on TeleElx.
Furthermore, on August 13th, a parade with 'dolçaina i tabalet' (traditional instruments) will take place through the center of Elche, culminating at the UFECE 'racó'. Finally, representatives from the 13 associated festival commissions will participate in the traditional procession of the Virgen on the 15th, marking the end of UFECE's activities in the August Festivals.
