The festivals begin on the night of August 31st with the opening speech by musician Pepe Andreu Garzón, a trumpeter, band director, composer, and educator. The event will take place at 10:30 PM in the Glorieta square, featuring musical collaborations from local groups and artists. After the speech, the traditional tents and 'kábilas' will open.
From September 1st to 3rd, the Moors and Christians Cultural Festival Association organizes the central events of this celebration. On Tuesday, September 1st, at 10 AM, the Moorish Assault will take place on Levante beach, a spectacle that this year is slightly moved eastward to improve visibility. Subsequently, the Association's Anthem will be performed, followed by a musical parade to collect the 2026 Festival's Senior Queen, Helena Martínez Alba, the Junior Queen, Inés Abad Vicent, and the Senior Citizen Queen, Conchi Gabarrón López, along with their Courts of Honor. The day will conclude with the first 'mascletà' of the festivals on Los Baños avenue and the Moorish embassy in front of the Castle.
September 2nd will be marked by the arquebus combat for the reconquest of the Castle. On September 3rd, the Moors and Christians celebration will conclude with the spectacular parade through the city center, a colorful procession with comparsas, 'boatos', and floats.
The second phase, from September 4th to 6th, is dedicated to popular festivities. Friday the 4th will start with a musical parade through the streets participating in the decoration contest, followed by a communal 'sopar del cabasset' (bring-your-own-food dinner). Saturday the 5th will focus on children, with lunch, games, a bike circuit in the Castle, and a 'correfocs' (fire run). The night of Monday the 6th will feature the traditional Multicolor Parade, with the participation of comparsas and dance academies, and will close with a fireworks display from the Levante beach breakwater.
The final days, September 7th and 8th, are dedicated to the patron saint, the Virgen de Loreto. On Monday the 7th, the moving flower offering will take place at her chapel in the Castle Fortaleza, followed by a serenade by the Banda Unió Musical and the Coral Levantina Antonio Espinosa, and a nighttime 'mascletà'. On Tuesday the 8th, a local holiday, the mass will be celebrated in the Castle's parade ground with the singing of Maestro Quislant's Motet, another 'mascletà', and the solemn procession with the Patron Saint's image in the evening. The festival will conclude in the early morning with a final fireworks display.
