The Plaça de Baix Hall at the Miguel Hernández University (UMH) in Elche will host this Thursday, September 17th, the presentation of the book 'La producción cinematográfica en Elche. Directores de cine, películas y contexto histórico'.

The work, written by UMH doctor and professor Jaime Quiles Campos, is an unprecedented study on the history of cinema in Elche. The book compiles and analyzes for the first time data on local filmmakers and their productions between 1928 and 2024.
The book's objective is to identify these professional and amateur authors, examine their works, and highlight their contribution to the city's cultural and historical context. The work combines the author's personal experience as a filmmaker with his academic training.
The presentation event, scheduled for 7:00 PM, will feature historian, professor, and director of the UMH's Pedro Ibarra Chair, Miguel Ors Montenegro, and UMH professor Montserrat Jurado Martín, who will moderate the session. Access is free until capacity is reached.
The publication is part of the research activities of the Audiovisual Analysis and Prospecting Chair (CAPA UMH) of the Consell de l'Audiovisual de la GVA. The book has been published by Comunicación Social Ediciones y Publicaciones.
