The Local Government Board of Elche has granted the license for the construction of a new four-star hotel in the Business Park, promoted by Iris Vitelco S.L., with an investment of 5 million euros.

The construction of the new hotel establishment, which will allow work to begin after the summer, strengthens the municipality's tourist offering. The mayor, Pablo Ruz, along with the deputy mayor, Francisco Soler, the third deputy mayor, Aurora Rodil, and the Tourism councilor, Irene Ruiz, have visited the area where the future hotel will be located, next to the IMED Hospital.
According to the mayor, granting this license represents a “new tourist milestone” and responds to the need to increase the city's hotel capacity, consolidating it as an attractive destination for investment, quality tourism, congresses, and major events.
The new establishment will feature 98 rooms, including suites and tourist apartments, as well as a spa, swimming pool, restaurant, cafeteria, meeting rooms, garden areas, and parking for approximately 120 vehicles. The project, which will have a basement, ground floor, and two upper floors, covers a built area of 7,707 square meters and is expected to create around 50 direct jobs.
The manager of the construction company, Laura López, has expressed the company's enthusiasm for this new investment, highlighting their confidence in Elche's potential as a tourist and business destination. The establishment aims to become a gateway to the “Mediterranean oasis” that the city represents.
With this project and another hotel under construction on Solars street, Elche will add 122 new rooms and 8 tourist apartments, increasing its hotel capacity by 15%. Currently, the city has around 1,800 hotel places, with an average occupancy of 84%.
