The Councilor for Education, María Bonmatí, has announced the positive results of the ordinary enrollment process for 3-year-old Infant education for the upcoming academic year. 99.2% of families who applied for a place in a public school have been admitted to their first choice, while across the entire educational offering (public and state-subsidized), nearly 93% have secured their first-choice school.
In Elche, 2,082 vacancies were offered for 3-year-olds, with 1,553 applications submitted. Of these, 1,439 obtained a place at their first choice, and only 144 did not. In the public school system, out of 1,797 places offered, 1,191 families applied, and only ten students did not get a place at their initially chosen school, mainly due to the choice of the base language.
In state-subsidized centers, 285 places were offered against 362 applications, with demand exceeding supply. The centers that applied a scoring system were Carmelitas, Salesianos, and Jesuitinas.
The extraordinary enrollment period will open from July 13th to 15th via the ADMINOVA platform. Currently, there are 529 school vacancies available for families who did not obtain a place, did not participate in the ordinary process, or for unforeseen circumstances or excluded applications due to duplication.
Due to lower demand, 3-year-old classrooms at Eugeni d’Ors, Dama d’Elx, San Fernando, Baix Vinalopó, and Hispanidad schools will be non-operational, along with a 2-year-old classroom at CEIP Luis Cernuda.
Regarding Municipal Infant Schools, 69 applications were registered for babies, 353 for 1-year-olds, and 182 for 2-year-olds. Additionally, two-year-old vacancies remain at the Conselleria infant schools Aitana and Alborada, which will be offered in the extraordinary period.
The councilor also reminded that the definitive lists for Bachillerato will be published on July 9th, with extraordinary admission periods from July 17th to 20th for ESO and from July 23rd to 27th for Bachillerato. On July 14th, the Municipal School Council will meet to set the three non-teaching days for the 2026-2027 academic year.
Finally, the centers Sixto Marco, Misteri d’Elx, Nit de l’Albà, and the Tamarit Special Education Center were congratulated for obtaining the TOTedu seal, an award from the Ministry of Education recognizing their educational innovation projects.
