The local government board has today approved the renovation and adaptation project for the Manolo Maciá municipal stadium, which includes an investment of 1,480,117 euros. The works encompass new surfacing for the athletics track, renovation of changing rooms and stands, a dedicated area for match recording, updated public address system, a roof, and new seats in the north stand, alongside the installation of solar panels and high-efficiency LED projectors.
The Councilor for Sports, Ángel Piedecausa, highlighted that "this investment will enhance one of our most important sports facilities, updating it to meet current needs and compensate for the wear and tear from its intensive daily use." He particularly valued "the integral remodeling of the athletics track with new surfacing that will allow us to homologate it for competition".
The planned works include the removal and replacement of the degraded athletics track surfacing with new tartan material, adapting it for both training and high-level competition. The changing rooms will also be renovated, with updates to electrical installations, flooring, and tiling. Existing stands will undergo repairs, including the north stand, which will see its appearance transformed with new plastering, painting, individual seats with backrests, and a new shaded area.
Additionally, a press area for match recording will be established, and passive fire protection will be applied to the metal structure of the stands using fire-retardant paints. The stadium's public address system will also be renewed.
Energy efficiency is another key objective of this renovation. A photovoltaic installation for self-consumption is planned, utilizing solar panels to cover part of the sports facilities' energy demand. Furthermore, all the football field's lighting fixtures will be replaced with new high-efficiency LED technology projectors, improving pitch illumination while reducing energy consumption and maintenance costs.
