The competition, taking place from September 11-13, will gather more than 1,200 players from 86 teams. These teams come from various parts of Spain, along with an invited club from Germany.
The tournament presentation was attended by the Councilor for Sports and Environment of the Elche City Council, José Antonio Román; the Rector's delegate for Healthy Campuses and Sports at UMH, Raúl Reina; and the president of the Elche Volleyball Club, David Agulló.
According to Raúl Reina, the University's collaboration in this event offers an opportunity to "put UMH on the national sports map and strengthen ties for the development of sport within the university context." The tournament's celebration also reinforces the University's partnership with Elche's sports community through its institutional program #ProyectaDeporteUMH.
This event is part of the programming for Elche 2026 Mediterranean Capital of Sport, which hosts numerous sports activities and competitions throughout the year, with the University's active participation.
The UMH Palau dels Esports will share hosting duties with the Pabellón Esperanza Lag and the Pabellón Sara Marín y María Díez. The sports event will feature teams from the benjamín, alevín, infantil, cadet, juvenil, and sénior categories, in both male and female divisions, as well as a Mixed Amateur category. Approximately 300 matches are scheduled, starting on Friday afternoon and concluding on Sunday morning.
