Construction of the future Jayton sociocultural center in Elche.

Construction work on the future Jayton Sociocultural Center in Elche's Carrús neighborhood is advancing according to schedule, with completion anticipated for 2027.

Currently, work is focused on the basement, which will house the underground parking. Following excavation, the foundation and basement walls have been completed. The current phase involves formwork for the first basement slab, followed by concrete pouring in this section and the ramp area, which is currently used for truck access.
This new space, spanning a built area of 4,400 square meters, will become one of the city's main sociocultural hubs. It represents the largest public investment by the Elche City Council in the Carrús neighborhood in recent decades, with a total budget of 13.9 million euros.
The project includes an auditorium with a capacity for over 500 people, a cinema with 130 seats, a multipurpose room for neighborhood, training, and social activities, and nearly 1,000 square meters dedicated to municipal offices to bring public services closer to citizens.
Furthermore, the design incorporates the creation of a large plaza opening onto Novelda Avenue, conceived as a new meeting point for residents, along with the improvement and redevelopment of the entire surrounding area. The center will also feature two levels of free, supervised underground parking for approximately 200 vehicles, addressing a long-standing demand from the neighborhood.
