As compensation for this modification to the 2026/2027 academic year calendar, Tuesday, December 22, 2026, will be a teaching day. The municipal request, which received prior approval from the Crevillent Municipal School Council on July 9th, was based on the exceptional circumstances and significant citizen participation that characterize Holy Wednesday in the town.
The formal request was submitted to the Territorial Directorate of Education of Alicante to modify the calendar for educational centers in Early Childhood, Primary, Secondary, Baccalaureate, Vocational Training, and Artistic Studies.
With this authorization, the school calendar in Crevillent for the 2026/2027 academic year will include a total of four local non-teaching days: December 7, 2026, February 19, 2027, March 24, 2027 (Holy Wednesday), and May 3, 2027.
This adjustment will allow the academic calendar to align with the municipality's specific characteristics, while adhering to the teaching compensation established by the educational administration.
