The event, organized by the UMH's Vice-Rectorate for Culture, Equality, and Diversity, will take place on Tuesday, September 29th, at 7:00 PM, in the Cinemateca of the La Valona building. The screening will feature the director, Juli Esteve, who will give an introduction and later participate in a Q&A session with attendees.
Admission to the event is free, although it will be limited by the hall's capacity. The documentary recounts the story of how, around 1906, phylloxera and caciquism fueled the American Dream for thousands of inhabitants from the Marina region and its surroundings. Until 1920, North America was the promised land for approximately 15,000 Valencian emigrants, a number that increased with a second wave of migration after the post-war period.
