The Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH) has renewed the HR Excellence in Research (HRS4R) distinction, awarded by the European Commission, recognizing institutions with a fair and stimulating work environment for research staff.

This international recognition confirms the UMH's public commitment to applying the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers.
To obtain this seal, the UMH hosted an external audit and inspection day. International evaluators held working meetings with members of the Rectoral Team, the HRS4R Technical and Monitoring Committee, representatives of the Technical, Management, and Administrative and Services Staff (PTGAS), and researchers from all career stages.
Maintaining this distinction consolidates the UMH as an attractive institution for attracting and retaining international research talent, strengthening its strategic position and competitiveness in European funding calls such as the Horizon Europe framework program. Having this distinction is an essential eligibility requirement for some funding calls.
